NY ASSEMBLY UNANIMOUSLY PASSES “ALICE’S LAW”

Assemblyman David Weprin (D-Middle Village) and the family of Alice Ross are calling on the senate to swiftly re-pass the amended version of “Alice’s Law” that unanimously passed the assembly last night. The 2012 Legislative Session is slated to close tomorrow.

New Yorkers Stand Against Insurance Fraud (NYSAIF), the grassroots coalition of citizens committed to fighting insurance fraud and protecting the safety of New York drivers, today applauded the Senate Majority for including “Alice’s Law” in a package of anti-crime measures that they are prioritizing for passage in the Assembly before the close of the 2012 Legislative Session on Thursday.

As hard as we in law enforcement fight, no-fault fraud remains epidemic. It is no longer enough simply to combat this crime. We need to prevent it. And while there is no magic pill, one step would dry up the supply of patients to unscrupulous no-fault clinics: an effective anti-runner law.
