New York State Senator Tony Avella has picked up the backing of New Yorkers Stand Against Insurance Fraud. The 11th district Senator has been a champion in our efforts to stop auto insurance fraud:
“As you may know, I voted in support of 3 major bills that passed the State Senate in both 2011 and 2012 addressing the issue of No Fault Insurance fraud. On June 16, 2011, and again on March 22, 2012, I voted in favor of Senate Bill Nos. S 1685 (imposing tough criminal penalties for staging motor vehicle accidents), S2004 (creating a class E felony for unlawful procurement of clients, patients or customers) and S4507 (permitting an insurer to rescind or retroactively cancel a policy in certain circumstances).
Unfortunately, each of these bills has yet to be passed by the State Assembly. Should these bills comes before the Senate again I will be voting in favor of each of them.”
Welcome to the club, Senator Avella! We look forward to working with you!
